As a Lead HIV Physician and an Investigator in the CDC PEPFAR in Healthy Nigerians Consortium Project, Babashani has been involved in the treatment, care and support for over 9000 People Living with HIV as well as managing and coordinating the PEPFAR Program over the last 20years at Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital Kano
Babashani has been a member of the National Task Team on Anti-retroviral Therapy (NTTA) which is responsible for developing and updating treatment guidelines as well as other policies for Nigeria for the past 17years. He also served as a member of the national Technical Working Groups (TWGs) committees for HIV-TB co-infection, Multi-Drug resistant TB and Influenza for over 10 years.
Professor Babashani have served as a consultant to the World Health Organization (WHO), UNAIDS, Institute of Human Virology Nigeria (IHVN), Family Health International (FHI), Chemonics International and many other Non-Governmental Organizations on various thematic areas of HIV and TB programs.
His areas of Research Interest includes Respiratory Tract Infections, Asthma, Tuberculosis and HIV Infection.
